Another stellar night at Speak Easy last night (Our Spoken Word Open Mic night at Dulicmer, Chorlton) with at least forty-five or so people there, with Phillip Carter doing a simply wonderful job of hosting.
He had everybody laughing throughout the full of the whole night. Well done and thanks m8 – I know he has a few really good auditions coming up, so on behalf of me, Amanda, and Steve, we would like to wish him all the best.
Big thank you to all of the following who read, we had people coming over from South Shields, Lancaster and Todmorden alone last night, which was really touching.

We are taking a well-deserved break from our night in August but will be back on Thursday, 04 September 2025, when we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary, and I can already announce that David Hartley, the founding father of Speak Easy, will be back to guest host for us on that night.

We strongly recommend booking in advance for a slot to read, and even if you just turn up in advance wishing to read, we will try, of course, to find a slot to read, but we cannot guarantee it.
